Oasis

A very unique collaboration with big band of RTV Slovenia under the title “Oasis” was a project that took place in 2014 in Slovenia. The projects main premise was to combine traditional sounds, rhythms and melodies from Balkan peninsula and infuse and combine them with jazz realms in the most organic way possible. To further enrich this premise, a line-up of world class guests was invited to participate in realization of this project, namely: a legendary Macedonian guitar virtuoso, a former member of legendary rock’n’roll group Leb I So, Vlatko Stefanovski, a Bulgarian inventor and revolutionary musician, kaval player Theodosii Spassov, first jazz tambura in the world, Filip Novosel, young Slovenian groundbreaking pianist Marko Churnchetz, Serbian first call bassist, Milan Nikolić and another Slovenian, great percussionist Damir Mazrek. Compositionally speaking, entire project was composed by Žan Tetičkovič.
