Since moving to New York in 2012, a young Italian pianist and bandleader from Milano Andrea Domenici has been developing a deep interest in learning songs from The Standard American Songbook. Through melodic lyricism and harmonic complexity of this repertoire, Andrea has found a unique and personal voice on his instrument.
In 2013, Domenici put together his own trio with two schoolmates from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music who had the same passion in learning and playing the standard jazz repertoire: Myles Sloniker on bass and Zan Tetickovic on drums. Through close friendship, years of playing and creation of collaborative arrangements of songs by Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and Cole Porter they found very special connection between each other and a personal way of approaching jazz music. By playing and improvising in variety of dynamics and tempos from Swing, Latin and Brazilian rhythms, Andrea Domenici’s main goal is to provide a swinging good time for any occasion and for audiences of all kinds.
